visit from nepal
4 young women fly to canada
8 laughing eyes visit calgary
for 100 hours of work
and 100 hours of play
they came for a practicum
over the world to our shop
so more stools, more coffee, more tea
then we all took turns teaching
a little of this, a little of that
a bit of the other and more
a lot not a little is needed
but a little is all that could be
they huddled and listened
their ears plugged up with our words
their hands learned, their heads filled
their arms were loaded with books
did you know, can you see
please look here, please look there
why this, and why that
because it is true, and because it is so
they were fun to have visit
so polite and attentive
8 sleepy eyes at day's end
then 4 little birds fly home. |
