a friend had just received a letter from England from the fairbridge records after his inquiry about his old file. in that file was included a letter from his grandmother demanding from the fairbridge society how her grandson was faring and expressing concerns that his letters to her clearly indicated her letters were not getting to him. as a child shipped to canada in the war he always felt abandoned. and this discovery gave him assurance that his grandmother cared. It was a gift of peace.
